With todays constant need to communicate through a broad range of software and services, there has never been a greater requirement for a universal language.
The Vet-XML Consortium is an industry body governed by SPVS that is defining communication standards to make it easier for the veterinary profession to communicate and exchange data.
This collaborative approach is already reaping real benefits. For instance, one of the first applications is
electronic insurance claims, where communication standards:

- Frees up time
- Improves cashflow
- Reduces settlement time.
The enabling technology behind these benefits are a
common data format (VetXML) and a
common communications platform.
